COMPETITION: Win a luxurious overnight escape at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa

You deserve to escape the January blues. Here’s why…

YOU’VE ALREADY SURVIVED six days of January and we reckon that’s as good a reason as any to treat yourself.

Having been forced out of your bed, into work and to generally pretend to be a functioning adult again has meant that it’s been a pretty tough 2017 so far.

Here’s why you really deserve some downtime this month.

1. You’ll achieve some of your grandiose 2017 fitness plans

OK, so what if it was a five-minute swim followed by 20 minutes in the sauna?

That time could have been spent recoiling from a fellow passenger’s armpit on a bus followed by a five-minute trudge to work in arctic temperatures. You got this.

2. You’ll get to humble brag about it around the office

It will be a chance to finally show up Steve from accounts for his insufferable bragging about his casual marathon training.

What am I up to this weekend? Oh, only lounging in luxury for the weekend, or even better, during the days when you chumps will still be in the office.

Your frosty 6am jog around Phoenix Park doesn’t sound so brilliant now, huh Steve?

3. You really deserve a great sleep

Look, there’s no way around it, 2016 was really hard. We lost Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Prince AND Carrie Fisher.

It’s no wonder you are feeling tired when you spent the last of it up late worrying about the wellbeing of Bruce Springsteen (it definitely has nothing to do with your 1am Twitter habits).

A featherbed is what you really need right now.

4. You need time to reconnect with your nearest and dearest

Whether it’s with your other half, your best friend or your sister, a trip with just the two of you is a brilliant start to the new year, and makes any Christmas-related crankiness a distant memory.

They’ll practice a lot more patience with you after hitting the spa together, we promise.

5. You need to be good to yourself in 2017

Let’s face it, the only resolution you’re going to want to stick to is letting yourself off the hook once in a while, and there’s no better time to do that than during the greyest months of the year.

Do something lovely for yourself, whether that’s a spa break, a shopping spree or a long hike with your friends, it’s far more important than any other resolutions you’re trying to enforce.

Here’s a chance to win an overnight stay for two people in a luxurious Deluxe room at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa.  You will enjoy a delicious dinner in Sika, and breakfast the following morning overlooking the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Good luck.

Even if you don’t win this brilliant competition exclusively for readers of TheJournal.ie, you can still head over to Powerscourt Hotel Resort and Spa to book a Powerscourt Moment that will brighten up your January!
