Myd announces sophomore album 'Mydnight' and releases lead single

French DJ, producer and artist Myd has announced his highly anticipated second album Mydnight, set for release August 29th via Ed Banger Records/Because Music. The announcement arrives alongside new single "So High," offering a sun-drenched preview of the forthcoming LP's sonic direction.

Mydnight marks a significant evolution for Myd, shifting from the guitar-infused indie dance of his 2021 debut Born a loser to a more club-focused approach informed by three years of relentless global touring. The 13-track album features Myd's vocals on every song alongside collaborations with Channel Tres, Calcutta, Trueno, Carlita, and Bethanie Home.

Written and produced between LA and Paris, the album draws directly from Myd's experiences DJing across the world, incorporating sounds and vibrancy from the many places he's performed. This global perspective manifests in tracks like "So High," which features Samba rhythms and World Cup-esque whistles, and the tender morning-after reflection of "9am" featuring Calcutta.

The collection spans emotional territory from euphoric club anthems like "In My Head" featuring Carlita to more introspective moments such as "Be Someone New" with Bethanie Home. Previous singles "Song for you"/"The wizard" and "All that glitters is not gold" featuring Channel Tres and Trueno have already demonstrated the album's range and ambition.

Myd's journey between albums has been marked by creative experimentation, from building a surreal lockdown variety show called CoMyd to a recent week-long 24/7 Twitch stream where he finished the album live on air. His Ibiza experiences proved particularly formative, including a legendary opening set in the toilets at Hï that eventually led to main room performances.

"'Mydnight' is his view from the DJ booth," according to the release notes, representing "the joyful evolution of that vision: euphoric, melancholic, and defiantly fun."

The album announcement coincides with an extensive tour schedule spanning major festivals including Glastonbury, Mad Cool, and All Points East, alongside club dates and Ibiza residencies at Glitterbox.

Mydnight arrives August 29th with "So High" available now across all streaming platforms.
